I'm going to flood this post with lots of pictures. Because I went to the florist/nursery with Mommy. The one along Thomson road. And I got so excited I took so many pictures of the fresh flowers.
This is not my first time there, but probably the first time there with a camera!!
I was supposed to go with Cheryl as I've always wanted to do bouquets. And since Mother's Day is round the corner, why not?
But Cheryl was out that day. And it was a last minute decision to go with Mommy since we were both home. And since we were going to Mama's house for tea the next day.
Strawberries.

And we entered the cold cold room... It was excited to see so many flowers, but not that exciting because it was all chrysanthemum!!

The fun started when we went to the next room.

Lilies. So pretty!! And I love the color!

And then, there were buckets and buckets of tulips, in so many different colors.

The dark purple one is so special.

And then... there were every girls' favorite - roses!!

Awww. ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

And my favorite of the lot.

The blue and lime roses costed almost $30 for what you see...

And these..... like those you see in baking shops, for decorating cakes.

So many of them.

I love this picture!! In fact, I love alllll the pictures!!

We were spoiled for choices, butwe I chose to be traditional and get carnations, since it's Mother's day. Mommy didn't know that carnations are the mother's day flowers.

Hahaha!! I just realised that I didn't takemany any pictures of the carnations, except for the one on top. I suppose roses are prettier.
And I got scolded by Mommy cause I was busy taking pictures and didn't help to choose what to get. We took so long there, and we were freezing!!
Oh... there's another pic of carnations.

The ones on the left side of the pictures are carnations.

"Candid" shot of Mommy choosing the flowers.

And they had mini pineapples. I wanted to get for Godma since she wants to strike 4D!

This is the temperature of the not so cold room. But I didn't see any thermometer in the super cold room, where the roses are.

And after choosing the different colors of carnations, we had to choose the "supporters" ie the flowers around it. I've got no idea what it's called. And since Star Awards just ended, I was thinking of it as the "supporting" flowers.
The ones commonly used are baby's breath and forget me not (the purple ones). And we were surprised that the "supporters" are as expensive as the main flowers. Some are even more expensive!
Oh!! I found out online that they are called flower fillers.
We bought the baby's breath, million stars and golden something. I couldn't rmb the name.
And it was so cold when we left the room that my camera misted up, and pictures turned out like that.

There were rows and rows of ribbon!! I was so tempted to get so many different colors, but I could hear Cheryl's voice in my head "Don't buy jiejie, don't!! You don't need them..."

Our buys...
We bought enough to make a bouquet for Mama, Godma (Mom's younger sis), Ee (Mom's elder sis), Kimkim (Mom's sis-in-law) and Mommy. Mommy chose her own color! Hahaha!!!

And the fillers...

OMG!! I'm starving now. And I have to see this picture!!
We spent like more than 2 hours there!! It was 8+ by the time we left. And we went Long House for chicken rice.

We started doing the bouquets that night. I was relying a lot on Mommy since I thought she had the know-hows! I remembered that she likes to do flower arrangements (in vases, baskets etc). She even said that she brought me to her flower arrangement class once when I was a kid. But I obviously don't rmb.
Turns out, she didn't know how to do bouquets, and everything was trial and error =(
Anyway, I kept telling her that I wanted to do a short hand bouquet, instead of the long ones. And she didn't understand/hear, and kept giving wrong instructions. And I got really fustrated. And Kor who was there too, not to help... just that his computer is there, told me to give her instructions instead. He said to tell her what I want her to do, instead of what I want.
But I couldn't tell her what to do, because I know nuts!!! Forget it, long story short... and we managed in the end.
When we finished the third one, she got tired and said she'll go check on the first bouquet which was in her air con room. And she never came back.
So I did the reminding two. And the whole area was like a jungle because there were flower/leaves/stems every where!!
And by the time I did the fourth one, I feel like an expert. And I took less time to complete. And then, I even re-did the second bouquet cause it looks amateur compared to the rest.
Actually, the first one was the worst, but it was too late to redo as I've already "wrapped" it up.
We decided to give the one that was meant for EE to Mama as it was the biggest. I didn't want to exchange as first, as I was thinking of each of them when I was doing it. Like it was customized for each of them. It's like cheating, and Kor said I didn't have to lie if I told them "I thought of you when I was doing your flower" But I don't have to give her hers. -.-"
I didn't had much feeling for the one meant for EE as Mommy did most of it. And since I re-did Mama's one, I thought of EE and made is hers. =)
Oh!! And Cheryl came home with her friend, Siqi, later that night. I think it was almost 5am!! I told Kor that if I were to go to a friend's house at such an ungodly hour, I would have thought that I'll have to sneak in quietly since every one is asleep by then.
BUT!! At that ungodly hour, our whole household was awake!! Not wide awake though.
Cheryl came home and wished my Happy Mother's Day!! I'm Mommy #2.
Okay. This post is so draggy cause I don't feel like going to bed. Kudos to you if you've read all the way to this line!! I took one and a half hours for this.
Pictures of the bouquets in the next post =)
ps. I was actually quite impressed+surprised with my flower knowledge!
